When Mr. Skerrit said that after 15 years in office he was
able to get our economy solely dependent on passport sales revenue he was sincere. We all
know that Mr Skerrit is an absolute stranger to the truth but in this regard we must give him credit for telling the truth. The only thing is
that Mr. Skerrit at this juncture had no choice but to tell the people the
truth in order to buy sympathy and to then continue with his path of lies,
deception and conniving promises.
While MR. Skerrit with CBI money is busy dishing out and promising moneys to village councils and offering employment through the NEP program,
civil servants are being offered 0, 0, 0 salary increase for the next three
years. Not only are the civil servants
offered zero salary increase but that they are forced to work under abnormal
and even inhumane circumstances.
The stories are plentiful but we want to focus on the plight of the Police Officers stationed in Portsmouth. Experience has shown us that every time MiTC expose
the government inefficiencies the government reaction is to cover up and in
this case the only cover up there can be is that the government will rush to
cover up the Portsmouth
police station with a new roof and provide better
leaving condition for the officers at the said Police Station
We have been reliably informed that the police officers
stationed in the town of Portsmouth are at their wit's end,with the inhumane
leaving condition in the building. According to our sources
when it rains constables and other officer quarters are flooded. The roof
structure is dilapidated and the Kitchen area is also in ruins. The pictures below provides the evidence.
Several years ago the government promised the police
officers that they would be relocated in order to renovate the building. The
information that we have received is that today the police officers are not
getting any responses from the government regarding the inhumane leaving
conditions at the Portsmouth Police Station. Police officers are now contemplating on
moving to their homes instead of sleeping in wet quarters and eating out of a ruined kitchen
With ZERO, ZERO, ZERO salary increase ,
added responsibility of policing Kempinski construction workers and the inhumane leaving condition at the police station, we can only imagine the level of frustration among the police officers.
Roosevelt Skerrit lies may look appetizing to the gullible , brilliant to the ignorant and powerful to the weak but lies only perpetuate and stretch our weaknesses. Lies wont fix the police stations, wont see an increase for civil servants and lies wont cure the disease of poverty , mendicancy and the increasing rate of prostitution in Dominica.
