We're hearing from a very reliable source that H.H.V. Whitchurch is not doing so well and may be staring at bankruptcy. You will recall that it was just 2 months ago that Roosevelt Skerrit made available half a million dollars to the company to help it sustain itself. Now we're learning that the company may now paying some of its workers with vouchers. Should this trend continue the logical alternative would be that this 100-year old company will be out of business and its employees will be on the unemployment line. So much for a booming economy our leaders love to talk about.
