Insult to Injury

If anyone needs further proof that Roosevelt Skerrit despises Dominicans and the very ground they walk on just look at who he intends to honour with our country's second-highest national award, the Sisserou Award of Honour. What exactly is this rodent being honoured for?

Anthony Astaphan has sewn hatred and division among Dominicans. This rodent is a hatemonger. This man single-handedly is responsible for the rife tension and vile division that exists in Dominica today. Labourites themselves know the man is vermin, some even hate him, but they will unbuckle their belts, drop their pants, bend over, grab their ankles and take one for the team because he's on their side. That is one group of sick individuals.

Never before in the history of Dominica has there ever been an individual as divisive as this rat. And now his puppet Roosevelt Skerrit has figured out that it is not enough that this rodent continues to bite us on our backs and suck our blood, he has decided to foist him even further up our backs so that he can bite us on our necks to sever our spine, by handing him one the country's most prestigious awards. In one fell swoop, Skerrit is not only spitting in the face of past honourees by having a coronation for a man who wantonly spreads within our society his own strain of leptospirosis, he has also wiped out all value and prestige this award held.

When the history books are written on this time in our existence, Roosevelt Skerrit and Anthony Astaphan will be noted as the most destructive one-two punches Dominica has ever faced. History is not going to be kind to these two, and we will not either. When the sun sets on this DLP administration, a lot of people will have to answer for what they allowed to occur in this beautiful land. Pastors, business people, civic leaders and Dominicans themselves will be called to the front of the line to explain themselves. I hope you people are prepared for that day of reckoning, because it's coming, and will be here faster than you expect.

Matthew Lee on the Case

Intrepid journalist Matthew Lee of Inner City Press is on the trail of Roosevelt Skerrit and there's nothing Skerrit can do about it. Let's see if he will chuckle as Mr. Lee continues on a mission to root out corruption everywhere he finds it.

Mr. Lee, in today's exclusive, highlights Skerrits propensity to dole out our diplomatic passports to just about any crook he comes accross. There's Francesco Corallo, an occupant of Interpol's Most Wanted List on suspicion of “organized crime, transnational crime and fraud” who Skerrit has tried to place on the UN Food & Agriculture Organization.

And then there's the neo-nazi Serge Roger De Thibault De Boesinghe whom Skerrit tried to push as Dominica's Ambassador to Ireland. Matthew reports that "Boesinghe became a member of an international neo-Nazi organization, the new European order, and was active in the Belgian branch of the movement. De Boesinghe was also a close friend and confidant of Leone Degrelle the former head of the Walloon Division of Hitler’s dreaded Waffen SS, which were front-line troops in the fight against the Soviet Union.”

You can read more of Matthew's investigative reporting at Inner City Press (link below)

Matthew Lee Reports

Lap Seng Exposé

As the days go by, more and more information about Skerrit's good buddy Ng Lap Seng, alias David Ng alias Mr. Wu, is being revealed for the world to see. MITC has laid its hands on a private and confidential investigative report on Ng commissioned by billionaire Sheldon Adelson's Las Vegas Sands casino and the stuff they've dug up on Ng could make a James Bond movie look tame.

Las Vegas Sands has an operation in Macau, Sands China, and obviously, is a competitor of Ng. Sands is currently being sued in Las Vegas Supreme Court for wrongful dismissal by Steven Jacobs, the former president of Sands China. Long story. The thing is, Sands dug up information on Ng and it's the stuff of thriller action movies.

In that report, Ng is described by people in Macau as a "prostitution racketeer", a "criminal-syndicate figure". He is alleged to have substantial connections with criminal and/or prostitution networks in Macau. The report does say that they could not find evidence that ties Ng to any specific criminal activity, so this is just hearsay in Macau, but the old adage "where there's smoke there's a fire" does enter the mind though.

Prostitution Racketeer you ask? Didn't David Hsiu say in an email that he provided "sexual entertainment" in Macau for Skerrit? Ng owns the Fortuna Hotel in Macau, a hotel that "boasts a 20,000 sq.ft. nightclub which, according to the broshure, offers attractive and attentive hostesses from China, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Burma together with erotic girls from Europe and Russia certainly offer you an exciting and unforgettable evening with friends or business associates". How many of you want to bet that Skerrit has been in there? Don't worry, that too will emerge at some point.

Abandon Ship

It's over 10 days now and no one seems to be able to tell for sure just where Roosevelt Skerrit is. We know where to find his good buddy Lap Seng, but he Skerrit is in hiding. But why Mr. Prime Minister? You have portrayed yourself time and time again that you are our savior, we can't do anything without you. Now you've left us all alone.

LOL. But we know why you can't be found; we're on your trail, and even better yet, the international press is all over your ass like a piece of linoleum, and you know how hot linoleum can get, so you're sweating profusely too.

Roosevelt, do yourself and Dominica a favour; resign. Get Out. NOW. You have wrought much too much misery on your people, it's time for you to make your exit.

And to your fellow ministers in Dominica, save yourself, run to the hills, Volcano Roosevelt is about to erupt. Resign from this pathetic government. We here at MITC knows most of you will not, because your hands are all dirty, Roosevelt saw to that, he made sure you wouldn't run off on him without putting yourself in jeopardy. But there are a few of you we believe can pass the smell test, barely.

MITC calls on the following parliamentarians in this Labour Party cabal to resign and rescue whatever part of your reputation is not in tatters; Catherine Daniel, Ian Douglas, Roslyn Paul, Robbie Tongue, Johnson Drigo, Justina Charles, Ian Pinard. Dominica needs you to step up to the wicket and do what's right for the team. Get Out. Now. While you still have a chance.

Health System in Crisis

We are confronted with a situation in Dominica where our health system needs to be in the ICU. Recently, our esteemed doctors Dale Dangleben, a well-regarded and experienced Trauma Surgeon and Irvin Pascal, an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist, offered us insights into the critical condition of our critical care system, and they've sought to enlighten us all by making it public. They were immediately assaulted verbally, threats included, by those who have a lot to lose should accountability rear its head. Dominicans, what is it you people have against knowing the truth? You're quick to point out that people are lying yet you don't want to know the truth. Are you people schizophrenic?
Those two good doctors are on record with critiques of the health system in Dominica and have provided ideas as to how it can be improved significantly; we need to be seriously taking a look at their suggestions. Not satisfied with just them? OK, bring in some more people, and we don't need foreigners either; there are numerous Dominicans in the diaspora who have excelled in the medical field, invite them over, bring them down, let them perform a top-to-bottom examination and diagnosis, and allow them to prescribe solutions that will surgically remove the tumors that are all over and put us on the road to recuperation. And Dominicans, please, you need to understand the fundamental difference between providing a critique and a criticism. The way some of you behave I suspect you were probably dropped on your heads at birth, which is not impossible at all if you were born at the PMH.

Now, when it comes to these cases in the news where people have been dropping and clear lines can be drawn to malpractice in the hospital, I am of the opinion that everyone involved in these circumstances ought to be sued, plain and simple. Examples must be made or it will never abate; as long as these pwe'kai nurses and doctors feel that they have nothinig to lose, they will continue as they've all done in the past. In US military jargon, thats a SNAFU - "situation normal, all fucked up". You people need to organize and sue; don't you people know how to organize? Suing is only for one set of people? The rich suing the poor?

DOMINICANS LISTEN UP - get together, and sue as a group, and when you're doing that, you cast a WIDE net - all of them, from the ones administering the bad medicine, to the administrators of the hospital who ought to ensure that the nurses are regularly trained and the procedures are in place to ensure proper dispensation of health services, to the government officials including the minister of finance who controls the purse for not budgeting adequate resourses that ensure the hospital is properly equipped. ALL OF THEM. And get a good lawyer, one not feaful of these officials, because I know that's another issue, a group of lawyers themselves voleh.

Let them Pay for their Tongues

Now that the Privy Council rendered a verdict that is devoid of justice, Dominica's own parasite-at-large Tony "the tick" Astaphan is promising lawsuits across the board, all presumably aimed at people who he believes are his political enemies. As to whether that gas bag intends to go through with his absurd threats or whether he's just farting, as he does on cue and with precision, is anyone's guess; after all, just saying that you're going to sue is one thing, having the evidence to put forth a case that would, when judgment is handed down, in your favour, that's quite another. One thing we know here at MITC is that Dr. Thomson Fontaine has enough evidence to pursue a lawsuit against a phalanx of rogues, so much evidence that he could sell some.

And we strongly encourage the good doctor to proceed on this path. These rogues have taken liberty over the past few years, maligning and vilifying him, making false allegations with the explicit intent of destroying his character. And we're not just talking about the usual suspects; we want the doctor to cast a wide net; Facebook gangsters like Paul Alexander, Samantha Robinson, must be included. Radio and media prognosticators like Simeon Albert, Frankie Bellot, Kamala & Philbert Aaron, Mervin Paul, are all to be swept up. And let's not exclude mental midgets NAN Ducreay, the Voice, and of course, Mammie. They all like to talk; well let them pay for their mouth.

You may not get verdicts against them all, but you will surely get them to spend substantial amounts of money on legal fees that ought to make them take notice.

DLP Talking Heads

DLP surrogates as well as pundits - the likes of Bottom Brain, seemingly hinge their beliefs on the illusion that much like Julien Giraud's refusal to incriminate his buddy Ambrose George, Ng Lap-Seng won't unmask his true affiliations with Skerro.

They are, however, either missing or consciously omitting two (2) pivotal factors which separate both scenarios. Firstly, Mr. Lap-Seng is Chinese and not Dominican - hence he holds no significant allegiance to Roosevelt Skerrit. More importantly, though, is the notion that whether Ng decides to or refuses to come clean with the Feds makes absolutely no difference. What really matters is that the FBI may have already amassed the necessary intelligence required to build a formidable case against the PM - if he is indeed an accomplice; and, that's what matters really. There is no ace in the hole here.

Oh! How Time Flies

One year ago this week, our crack team of negotiators including a Minister, a crab lawyer with two long gundys, and a gas station operator with an allegedly large bank account, visited Limkokwing University in Malaysia and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with them to bring a branch of the university to Dominica.

The Three Musketeers
Arranged by the owner of "My Dominica Trade House", a man Dominica's prime minister said on Kairi that neither he nor his government had any formal ties with, the three musketeers, Darroux, Nanton and Lawrence were photographed taking extensive tours and being wined and dined in the Pacific Nation.

The Long Gundy lawyer likes what he sees
Three Hundred and Sixty-Five days have passed, what is going on with the university? Does anyone have a clue?

Look Everybody! We're that little dot over here.
And why isn't the press in Dominica asking questions? These people in the media in Dominica, with an incredible dose of adulation, love to refer to themselves as "journalists" when nothing is further from the truth. They might as well start calling themselves repeaters, not reporters, repeaters, as in "we repeat what people say".

Rolls Royce ride was sweet: look at Nanton's face & Darroux's giggle
A journalist does not only talk about what's going on; he/she follows a story to its conclusion. They keep notes, log dates, followup on leads, question what they're being told - and when all that is done, they do it over again, just to ensure something did not slip through.

The Minister likes his gravy sauce
Let's see if anyone of them this week will even remember that it was a year ago that the three musketeers were in Malaysia signing deals and making promises. Let us see if they will question these people. Let us see whether they will do due diligence and attempt to find out what was really the story behind all of this.

Three cheers for millions in my bank account: HIP HIP, HOORAY
What a bunch of incompetents.

For more on the signing of the MOU, visit the story on the University's own website from a year ago. Click this link below.

SUE THE BASTARDS

News broke last week about the miscarriage of justice meted out by the Privy Council (PC) in the case of Pinard-Byrne v. Linton. We at MITC believe the PC made serious errors in coming to their decision, including but not limited to ignoring evidence submitted in support of Mr. Linton's arguments. Whatever spurred the PC to tack in  that direction we may never know, but what we can say with certainty is that the Lords who sit on that panel have failed in their duty. The tendency to believe that decisions emanating from the PC are infallible are, well, fallible. If proof is needed then look no further than the decision itself; the PC decided that an appeals court was wrong in a decision they made. Well, an appeals court is a court of justice, and so is the PC, an appeals court. That being said, what makes the PC any different? Isn't that the same PC that sanctioned slavery? Sure the bodies on the council may have changed, but it's the same PC, handing out judgments based on their interpretations of law while keeping an eye on precedent, at times with foggy vision.

With this decision in hand, MITC is strongly recommending to Dr. Irvin Pascal that he pursues a defamation case against Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit for his actions in the House of Assembly (HoA) last year. The prime minister engaged in what can be unequivocally described as defamation of Dr. Pascal's character. We believe he has a case, or at least he can set precedent.

The rationale for this recommendation pivots off the HoA own rules of Parliamentary Privilege, or whatever it's called. From what's being said, Members of Parliament (MP's) are immune from legal action for what they say in parliament, and we understand that. It does not make it right, for an MP virtually has carte blanche to malign and vilify an individual, and that is especially true with the person who sits as the Speaker of the House. These same parliamentary rules also prohibit MP's from talking about anyone who is not an MP as well, but that abusive woman who everyone refers to as Madame Speaker (we have a few other choice names for her), is especially biased, enforcing the rules against the members of the official opposition while allowing MP's on the government side to do and say what they want, as if it's "do-as-you-like" day in the cresh that she runs. More on her in a subsequent post.

Back to Dr. Pascal. We assert that the good Doctor has a case against Roosevelt Skerrt and Alix Boyd-Knights; he for uttering the words, she for allowing the words to be propagated without interference. Insofar as the rules of parliament are concerned, we will concede that nothing can be done if Dr. Pascal and all who heard them were in parliament when they were uttered. But that is not the case. The rules protect Skerrit in parliament, but the fact that they were heard over the air, in homes, offices, etc locally and worldwide, buttressed by the fact that both Skerrit and Alix knew that the HoA session was being broadcast live, they authorized it, we at MITC contend that the prime minister essentially placed himself  in the public sphere, and thereby waived whatever protections he could have enjoyed in parliament, and with Alix's blessings, proceeded to defame Dr. Pascal. That makes them liable. Think it's impossible to prove? No it's not, especially after that decision from the PC; it's called precedent.

Sam Raphael to Dubai for Citizenship Conference

Hotelier Sam Raphael of Jungle Bay Resorts is scheduled to be in Dubai November 1 - 3 for a Citizenship by Investment conference sponsored by Henley & Partners.

According to the program obtained by MITC, Mr. Raphael is scheduled to be part of a panel discussion on Monday Nov. 2 at 4:30pm Dubai time. The topic for discussion is "Opportunities and Benefits of Citizenship-by-Investment Programs" He is also scheduled to be part of a discussion on "Luxury Real Estate and Citizenship", scheduled to take place the following day, November 3rd at 9:20am Dubai time.

MITC wonders; since when is Sam Raphael in the CBI business? And who is he representing?

Ashe makes the UN Sec-Gen a proposal

It looks like this is what Ashe was trying to push on the UN. What you see here people is a letter by John Ashe to the UN Secretary General in February 2012. If you've following this Lap Seng saga involving the UN bribery scheme, you will know that Lap Seng is charged with bribing Ashe and Lorenzo to get them to have the UN bring a massive center to Macao, a center that he Lap Seng would build and operate. This letter by Ashe clearly indicates that Lap Seng's company, Sun Kian Ip Group is involved.

UN document A/66/758

Ashe has some explaining to do to the feds. And you can bet Lap Seng ain't going to take all this by himself; you think Beyonce can sing? She cannot hold a melody like Lap Seng, just watch.

Anyhow, the Office of the UN Secretary General has a press briefing on October 8th and naturally, this came up in the reporters questions (don't you wish our reporters in Dominica were as relentless in their pursuit of the news as those in other countries?).

Exerts from reporters questions to Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary-General.

Question:  On the issue of the audit, it's just that yesterday the… there were questions about the office for South‑South Cooperation having received $1.5 million, and they were looking into it.  I wonder if you have an update about specifically that case.
Spokesman:  Yes.  I mean the South‑South office has been… I'll just share with you what they sent us that the… the foundation… the Sun Kian Ip Group foundation donation of $1.5 million together with support from national Governments, NGOs, UN foundations and others was used by the Office in keeping with its mandate to organize conferences on South‑South and triangular cooperation in the context of the post‑2015 development agenda in Bangladesh in May 2015 and in Macau in August 2015.  In addition, the donation is being used to support preparations for the ministerial South‑South Conference on Science and Technology and the Group of 77 Thematic Summit on South‑South Cooperation that will be held in 2016, programme support for the World Alliance of Cities against Poverty and for the operational costs of the South‑South global assets and technology exchange.  The disbursement of funding on these initiatives was carried out in full compliance with UN standards and guidelines.  All disbursed funds were tracked and accounted for, and there's no evidence that any funds received by the Office of South‑South Cooperation were misdirected or misappropriated.  However, at the director's request… and I think as I had mentioned there is a new director, whose first day at work was actually on Monday… all of the elements of the [United Nations Office of South-South Cooperation’s] partnership with the Sun Kian Ip Group were currently under review.  And I can share with you what I've just read out, as well.  Go ahead.
Question:  No, but just to follow up — tracking the funds, organizing conferences, I mean, isn't it questionable to do this with money from a real-estate developer?
Spokesman:  Well, I think… you know, obviously, as I said, they're looking at these things.  The money was accepted from a foundation into the Office, I think, as if taken other monies from other foundations and is being used in accordance with its mandate.  I can put you in touch with the South‑South office, and they could probably answer further questions.  Mr. Lee?
Question:  Sure.  I just want to say on that, I did e-mail them yesterday with questions I have not received any response to yet, just for the record.  But, what I wanted to ask you is, it seems like he's asking OIOS to look at these two foundations, but in the indictment, there's direct information about the Secretariat… [John] Ashe and [Francis] Lorenzo dealing directly with the Secretariat.  And I'm referring to the GA [General Assembly] document that was revised for technical reasons to add in the name of the Macau real estate company.  And it says that Ashe and Lorenzo spoke to UN official number one, who, in turn, produced a document that said “revised for technical” reasons with the name of the real estate company into it.  So, this was not an interaction with either foundation.  It was an interaction directly with the Secretariat.  I wanted to know, this has been out for a couple days.  Who in the Secretariat put in the real estate company and called it a technical change?  That's one example.
Spokesman:  I don't have anything further to say about that, but obviously, in his… Secretariat staff often instructed by the office of the… by relevant Member States when they're producing sponsoring resolutions to put in the text, that's what the Secretariat does.  Nothing was done at the behest of… nothing was done by UN staff.  It was done at the request of Member States.
Question:  No, but I guess what happened here is, when you read paragraphs 40 and around there in the indictment, the companies were paying Ashe to obtain this official document, and once the number was assigned, document A/66/758, then they called somebody in the UN staff and said, can you reissue it with the name of a real estate company into it?  Which, i.e., it seems like, in the first instance, it wouldn't have gotten a number if it had the name of a company in it.  So, it's a very tricky business…
Spokesman:  Listen, I think those… what is contained in UN documents produced by Member States is for Member States to decide.
Correspondent:  And I want to ask you, there's another… because… is this the full… I wanted to ask you about this South‑South Awards for which DPI [Department of Public Information] sent out a press release as if it were a UN thing…
Spokesman:  I think it was a mistake.
Question:  Okay.  That involved Mr. Lorenzo, now indicted, et cetera, and I wanted to know, what was the relationship of the UN to that event?  I know that the head of DPI attended.  I know that the brochure that they put out has an enormous Ban Ki‑moon, and you know, quote in it.  What is… can you describe… and why this entity is not among the entities that you're naming will be looked at by OIOS, given that Mr. Lorenzo was the president of it and had 12 million… you know, a lot of money?
Spokesman:  South‑South was a news organization.  This was an event that the Secretaries‑General have sent messages to, and I have nothing to add on it.
Correspondent:  Just… I… they say awards is different than news.  To defend the news people, they say this is a separate entity.
Spokesman:  Matthew, I'll come back to you.  Yes?
Question:  I have two questions.  Sorry.  Thank you.  Two questions.  One, why the change of course since yesterday?  Why did the Secretary‑General decide to launch an independent investigation?  Has anything changed?  Did you receive new information?  Secondly, Global Compact says that it expelled the Sun Kian Group in April because of lack of transparency and report… failure to produce a report for two years.  So, if Global Compact has expelled them because they're not transparent, then why does South‑South Cooperation accept $1.5 million from them?  Is there no communication between the two?
Spokesman:  I think, the way I read the reasoning for the Global Compact is that they failed to comply with the reporting rules.  That's the way I read, that they didn't file the reporting rules they're supposed to send.  As for questions for… regarding UN South‑South, I think you need to address it to them.  On your… on your first point, I think…

You read it first on MITC. Happy Blogging.

PM loves Asia, Asia loves PM

So, I'm reading business news, and what do I come across?

It seems like Asians can't get enough of PM, his association with Ng Lap Seng has ensured that. Nikkei.com, an Asian Business Newspaper, has the story of the arrest of Lap Seng. What I find noteworthy is that the paper, before even mentioning who was arrested in the US on this probe by the FBI and the Manhattan US Attorney, makes a note of mentioning that the conference in Macau was attended by about 200 delegates from 50 countries worldwide.

John Ashe, Francis Lorenzo, PM, Ng Lap Seng

But what is striking about that is this; out of all these people that were in attendance, why does the paper, Nikkei Asia, make special mention of the prime minister of Dominica? Why the special attention to our PM? Do the writers of the article, Zach Coleman (the paper's deputy editor) and staff writer Jennifer Lo, know something that we don't?

Smells fishy. Take a look for yourself.

Shit Happens

Heyyyyyy, it's me, your girl Lizzy, fizzy Lizzy, and I trying a new ting; I'm blogging.

Yes I am. I'm new to this, okay? So take it easy with me. All I know is that a friend asked me whether I wanted to blog, and I immediately asked if I was going to get paid, only to be told its free. I was like "hell no, I already work for Skerrit for free, how am I going to survive". But then I thought about it; this was too important, I love my country, and I simply must let them know what I'm thinking. So here I am, blogging, from the north-east coast, in the lovely village of.....hahaha you didn't really think I was going to say, right? You want them to tell me doh come work again, and that my job has been made redundant? Mine me wi.

Anyhow, I was reading online, following this Lap Seng thing, you know how I nosy already, and I came across this link on Facebook with a video. Our lovely PM in Macao on video talking about how successful the meeting he was at had been; you know, the same meeting he didn't tell us he went to and when he came back, he still didn't tell us who he was with. But we have people who have him under watch, so is no sine.

Ng Lap Seng, PM, Francis Lorenzo, John Ashe, (Vince Henderson in background also)

So when the PM declare the meeting a success, I myself say "for who"? He never bring anything back for us so if he think it was successful, did he bring something back for himself? And if so, what? I don't know what you all think but I find it strange that the PM not talking about how successful he was. This man like to boast, but he not boasting? Why?

Now his three friends who he was spending so much time with in Macao are now in US government calaboose. I asking myself, what happening there? PM moumou, America pick up his pardners, PM looking like he forgetting about that whole idea about hectic travel schedule to get money for us, what is it PM know that we don't know yet?

One thing I know is that the American government don't play. PM can mamaguy Dominicans how he want, but Uncle Sam will good for him. I not scared for my Uncle in the North.

I heard someone in Q say this past week that PM should get something for when the diarrhea start, I think that's a good idea. PM you on di case ner? Bulls Eye have tablets for that.

This Brain has no Bottom

Now I really understand why they call Hartley Adams "bottom brain" - the man is intellectually dishonest and bankrupt. Sure, his jousting with Brian Linton certainly makes for good comedy, but outside of that, the man is a certified JACKASS, signed, sealed and delivered!

Bottomless Brain

Here he is, talking from one side of his mouth, making excuses and justifying what very well may be yet another case of the defrauding of the state of Dominica by the ruling DLP, suspected of using state funds to pay for the party's political promises re: the tablets for school children, an act that by any measure in a nation of laws would be illegal and subject the perpetrators to fines and imprisonment. His excuse? "the school children need it", "what difference does it make when a need is satisfied", etc etc.

On the other edge of his mouth he talks about the American system of campaign finance and somehow tries to tie that with Dominica. Does he realize that there are fundamental differences in the two? Does he realize that if a political party in the United States even THINKS of trying to use government money to pay for even a paperclip, the full force of federal law enforcement will come down on them? But here he is justifying illegal acts - the ends justify the means, in his book. By that rationale, I would presume that he would agree that if someone does not want to hear him talking on the radio again, if that person decides that the best way to accomplish that would be to cut out Hartley's tongue, then he would have achieved the goal, the ends justify the means, after all, eh Hartley?....be careful what you wish for Bottomless Brain.

Tony the Agouti

You've heard of Tony the Tiger, right? Well we have Tony the Agouti, except this one induces bowel movements; lucky us.

Tony the Agouti
It's always amazing to see the line of Dominicans who scramble to support and add credence to the hatred and vile statements being spewed by this inflamed hemorrhoid Anthony Astaphan. Listen people, the man is a rodent. This man does not have the best interests of Dominica and Dominicans at heart. He sits at his well-decorated home in South Florida, cruising the golf courses in the state, eats Wagyu Beef and snacks on Caviar and Pâté de Foie Gras, all while instructing the poor malayway to believe in a prime minister, his puppet, who continues to suppress your freedoms and keeps you in total poverty.

Really? How stupid can you Dominicans be?

I say you because I've already taken a stand; I will not buy anything any Astaphan has to sell. So it's up to you, you and yes, you. The ball is in your court now.

You can't even afford back and neck chicken, this rodent is stuffing his bloated face eating Wagyu beef that costs, depending on the cut and the restaurant serving it, between US$75.00 and $350.00 for an 8oz steak. That's EC$203.00 and $945.00 respectively, for those of you wondering. How many pounds of back and neck can you get for that price? Better yet, how many meals can you prepare with that cash? You people not wondering what's going on around you? Don't you care at all? Your prime minister is no different! Who do you think he dines with? The likes of you? or that Agouti? Take your time, i'll wait for your answer, because the way some of you behave, this question is a tough one, it might take some time for you to figure it out.

It is way past time for Dominicans to stop this madness. While you people struggle for a pay increase, while you complain about high taxes, this Agouti has prevented the government from auditing and collecting taxes due to us! That's right, while you continue to spend your money at his family's businesses, while you continue to pay your share of taxes, this rodent is not allowing his family's businesses to pay their taxes. I not shopping there, so they not making money on me; you shop there, so they make money on you and they don't pay any taxes. How do you feel about that?

Here's a "difficult" question for you; do you know who he's robbing in the process? Let me answer; All of US! We the people, represented by the state, takes all this money we pay individually and uses it to provide services to us; services like healthcare, road repairs, delivery of water, security, and the list goes on. Therefore, by not taking a stand, you're saying that it's OK for Tony the Agouti to deprive you of better services. But you know what's worse? This rodent and his family's businesses are benefiting from the services of the state that WE continue to pay for while he doesn't. That makes this rodent a pickpocket too, picking both of our pockets; he's not making a contribution and he's taking from us that which he and his family's businesses are not contributing to. And you all sit there and accept it. As I said, I not giving him none of my money, I have a hard time getting it from Skerrit already, to go give it to his friend just like that knowing all that I do, is criminal.

A Tale of Two Storms

Tropical Storm Erika hit Dominica hard, no question about it. In such times, the international community rallies to the assistance of countries like ours in the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster. No one shows up quicker than the Americans; they are at the vanguard of any emergency response, and that's a fact.

So it was with some surprise and quite a bit of incredulity that we noticed that the Americans, a mere few hundred miles away from Dominica, we no where to be seen in the hours and days after Erika. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, after a long silence and after questions were being raised as to whether the government had reached out to the Americans for assistance, proceeded to lie to Dominicans.

How do I know he lied? Well, it's simple. In his first sequence of responses to this question, Skerrit did not say he reached out to the Americans. Instead, he couched his answer by saying that he reached out to everyone. And the media let him slide, as usual. Note to media; when you ask a question that mandates a specific response, any answer that does not specifically address the question is an obvious attempt to mask something, so press on. Okay?

But let's face it; even if he did not ask, the Americans always extend their hands of support and assistance, so not seeing it in Dominica was, to me, a shock to the system. I know first-hand how the Americans put their all into relief efforts; as soon as the winds of Hurricane David died down, the Americans were on the ground coordinating assistance. They were there, not only distributing supplies, but were also rebuilding structures that were damaged; I know because I personally worked with the Naval Construction battalion, the Seabees, on the Princess Margaret Hospital. Skerrit has continued to perpetuate this lie about the US here in Dominica assisting. Where are they? I see the French, I see the British, I see the Venezuelans.

Where are our true friends the Americans? Anyone see the Seabees anywhere? Or the Army Corps of Engineers, who would fit right in with the reconstruction of our roads and bridges? Anyone?

Now, look at the Bahamas; look how fast the Americans showed up there over the weekend after the passage of Hurricane Joaquin. You haven't seen yet? Take a look; here's an advance team in the Bahamas immediately after the winds died down, allowing their helicopters to land.

Anyone see this on Dominica? The answer is no! I didn't see this, and I've been looking. I've got good vision. I can spot a helicopter, and I know the American flag. But you know who landed?

That's right. Take a look at the three stooges, all looking constipated.

Seen on Facebook

Okay, let me put this up front first. I am not the greatest when it comes to the English language, but I can hold my own. We all are guilty one way or the other of mispronouncing words, and in the case of the internet, hitting the wrong key. That is especially true when we're commenting on stuff using everyday dialect and mannerisms, whether it's in Dominica or among Dominicans. However, those of us with some smarts try to stick close to what it's really supposed to be. But there are some among us who really, REALLY butcher the language. Let me introduce you to one.

Say hello to a character who calls himself "Vipoweride Joseph".

Mr. Joseph is a prolific blogger on Facebook, commenting on just about anything that has to do with Dominica. He is especially active pushing the Labour party line, defending the Skerrit administration and vilifying anyone who dares have a dissenting view on things that government does; no one's shoes is more red than his. Mr. Joseph took it upon himself to attack our esteemed surgeon Dr. Dale Dangleben who just returned stateside from a visit to Dominica. While there, the good doc took a tour of the islands' medical facilities and discovered conditions that can only be described as horrific. More on that in a subsequent post; back to Mr. Joseph. I have some word of advice for him; sir, since you're someone who pretends to be educated and worldly and who chooses to consistently vilify people or caution them in one way or the other, in your own "smart" way, please ensure that you do some spell-checking. It doesn't look good when you come up with this beauty:

This gem, friends, is without a doubt, from a person clearly cut out to be any village's idiot; pick any village, he'll fit right in, home sweet home for him. Mr. Idiot, sorry, I meant Joseph, says that he's known to have a "goat mouth". Newsflash! Only goats have goat mouths, so if you're known to have a goat mouth, you're a goat. He goes on in this masterpiece to say "now and in the hear future". Now, I'm presuming the word he wanted to use, which would make sense in a statement like this is, "near", but the "h" key is just above the "n" key on the keyboard, so I'll give him a pass, maybe he was using a Blackberry and he has a big hoof. Oops, I did it again sorry, I meant hand. BUT, I simply cannot overlook the masterpiece he delivers at the end;

"you are one-ed"

Now, I gave him a pass for the "hear" word, but this is ridiculous. One-ed? In place of "warned"? Not even close!

Someone, buy Professor Idiot a dictionary, PUHLEASEEE!

OH! and tell him to smile too, it helps.

Morocco Missing in Action

So, where is Morocco people? Didn't Skerrit say that the King and him are pardnas? So where his pardna in this time of crisis for our nation? After Skerrit full his belly in the King palace with all kinds of whatever food they cook over there, his pardna decide to pull back? I wonder why. It's a month now and still the King is no where to be found. In the meantime, el Supremo has declared that he intends to tour the globe in an effort to drum up donations and assistance for Dominica's recovery.

But wait nuh. Isn't that the Baroness' job? Didn't el Supremo come like a thief in the night (pun intended) and appoint her our global beggar? What happen, she's not doing a good job? So he must join her? What is she getting paid for then?
